Robert Robinson: Director of Movement and Design

Biography
Robert Robinson most recently premiered his first evening length work, a contemporary rendition of the ballet "Giselle", with a score by Ditch contributor Jeanann Seidman, at the Access Theater June 11, 2008. He was honored to be the first non-instrumental performer to compete in the Concert Artist Guild in the fall of 2007 at Symphony Space. His work for Ditch has also been seen in such New York Venues as the Bowery Poetry Club, the Puffin Room, and the Williamsburg Art Nexus. Since 2005, he has been a full time company member of Rioult (formerly Pascal Rioult Dance Theatre) with whom he has performed in New York at The Skirball Theater, The Joyce Theatre, and City Center Theatre and toured France, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Mexico as well as many parts of the United States. He graduated from The Juilliard School under the direction of Lawerance Rhodes where he was afforded such opportunities as working with Dwight Rhoden on the creation of a new piece and learning the repertory of Lar Lubovitch in addition to having his work seen in The Juilliard Theater and Alice Tully Hall. While in his last year he was the subject of a documentary reality series entitled Dance School: Juilliard which aired on PBS in the fall of 2008. Previously, he trained the Hartt School under the direction of Peggy Lyman. As a guest artist he has performed with Lydia Johnson Dance, Minnesota Dance Theatre, Windhover Dance Company and Full Force Dance Theatre.
